Green Meadows / Barren Hills

Tourist places vagamon  -Vagamon  Green Meadows is also known as Barren Hill or Motta Kunnu is a collection of small meadows spread over a large area. Here you will also find interlocked small ponds in the valley of several meadows. This is one of the major movie shooting locations in vagamon.  Activity : This is the large grass covered area is ideal for a long or short walk and being with nature. Vagamon Pine Forests

At a distance of 6 km from vagamon bus stop, vagamon pine forests is a manmade forest located at vedikuzhi in the quaint hill town of vagamon, Kerala. Situated on vagamon-elappara road, it is one of the top places to visit in vagamon. It is a man made forest created during the British regime of India , which still stands overlooking the enchanting vagamon valley. Towering over the valleys and meadows is the vagamon pine forest , whole beauty has turned it into a popular and favorite location for filmmakers. Vagamon pine forest is a must visit destination in vagamon and a paradise for nature lovers. Afternoon is the best time to visit here.  

Vagamon Waterfalls

Vagamon tourist places – vagamon is a home to  many water falls. Palozhukum para( milk flowing rock ) is one of  the most popular waterfall in this region. As the name says, water look like flowing milk with its white color. You will also find numerous water falls like maramala waterfalls, aruvikkuzhi water falls, attukal water falls and more.  Water falls near vagamon are some of the most popular attractions among the tourists that are essence of tranquility and serenity. 

Kurisumala

Kurisumala meaning ‘Mountain Of The Holy Cross’ is one of the famous hills in vagamon. Earlier known as kondaketty mala. Kurisumala is a popular christian pilgrim spot amidst lush vegetation and dotted tea gardens. The serene, misty and verdant surroundings greatly contribute to the spiritual atmosphere of kurisumala. Its a space that encourages introspection for every spiritual seeker and also satisfies those who seek adventure. 

Vagamon Lake

Vagamon Lake is a serene waater body surrounded by the rolling hills of western ghats. The lake itself , although not very large , is a hub for leisurely activities such as boating and angling. The lake is enhanced by the presence of a small island, which can be reached by pedal boats.

Murugan Mala

Murugan Mala is a small hill on the eastern side of kurisumala. Dedicated to lord Murugan, the hills’s summit bears a single rock. This temple, a prime example of Indian rock-cut temple architecture, draws pilgrims every year from all over India. The patron god of the temple is regarded as lord murugan, son of lord shiva and goddess parvathy. October through April are the ideal months to visit this location. 

Thangal Hill

Thangal hills are an important pilgrimage spot of muslims, located barely 5 kms from vagamon. The whopping boulder at the top of the hill houses the mausoleum of sheikh fariduddin and and is visited by thousands of Muslim pilgrims annually during festival of Urs. Just below the rock boulder at the bottom of the hill, is a mosque used by the devotees and the locals to offer their prayers.  Surrounded by emerald green meadows and  verdant tea plantations, the hill top also provides some awe-striking panoramic vistas of the valley below lined with tress of pepper, vanilla, rubber and coffee.
